Last January 25, 2017 was a red-letter day for the Vincentian Family!
This day of every year is being celebrated by the Congregation of the Mission as their anniversary aptly in time for the day of Conversion of St. Paul. Adding more significance for the day, the opening of the 400th year birth of the Vincentian Charism was held at the Sanctuario de San Vicente de Paul, Tandang Sora , Quezon City, with the theme: "I WAS A STRANGER AND YOU WELCOMED ME."
The event started with the Eucharistic Celebration presided by Bishop Rolando Santos, CM and concelebrated by other priests of the Congregation of the Mission.
The Daughters of Charity Sisters and some employees of the College and Hospital of San Juan de Dios Educational Foundation, Inc. joined the celebration with all the Vincentian Family branches coming from different places where the legacy of Saint Vincent de Paul is lived out and perpetuated.
The different Vincentian branches were presented and acknowledged during the affair and as led by their leaders went through a reflective consultation to come up with their plan to be rolled out within this year 2017, guided by some points like: Who are the strangers in our midst? What new needs are emerging? How might we respond to these needs? and Might we be the strangers in need of welcoming?
Truly, the Vincentian ideals, values, attitudes and practices as inspired by St. Vincent de Paul are very much alive up to this time!
